So today, I was on my way home from art school today and this car caught my eye, I got off at the next stop and circled back. It was a 2015 Ford Mustang Pre-Production Prototype. I chatted up the guys loading it on the trailer, and they said the color is Guard and it has a 4cyl ecoboost that makes 300hp, I had previously thought that the HP range of that engine was undisclosed (but it may have been the V8 I was thinking about). The guy also said that ford has dropped their contract with shelby (no, there wont be another boss, I asked), in lieu of that he said their gonna bring back the mach-1 (hopefully). The mustang was there because the 2014 Denver International Auto Show starts wednesday (I might be going and take pix to post on oppo).

It hurts to see what they did with the design when they had the essence of a Mustang there. Right there 2014 And the mustang without the false gas cap looks strange there.

I doubt Ford is going to walk away from the Shelby name. A GT350 seems to be a certainty.

I know it would be a shame if they did, but it would make sense for ford to hold off on renewing their contract so soon after shelby's death, because so many companies have changed after the founders death ((cough)Apple(cough)).

Also worth pointing out: The guys loading the car probably aren't in charge of Ford licensing and product design. They probably have a mix of what they know, what they are allowed to say and what the heard at the water cooler and on the internet just like most of us.

My fiancee's dad and I were talking about this car this past weekend.

He told me the day they come into dealerships he is looking at one, and possibly buying it.

He has a 2013 Mustang V6 (He wanted the GT, but couldn't really justify the gas mileage on it if he is only going to take it out on little drives, he's also older and doesn't really need power), but he wants the Four Cylinder version of this.

He's pretty pumped to see the car in person up close.

By definition, the 2015 resembles A Mustang... Because it is a Mustang. At some point Ford has to create new designs in order to keep it fresh and attract new buyers.

They have many classic designs to choose from, they chose the fusion.
